    H1B Tuition Fee ?
Hi, Can anybody give me an answer to this question pleaseee..
Here is my situation time line

    - I came here in US. In 2000 (F1), Graduated undergrad in Dec 2005
    - Got an OPT on Jan 2006
    - Start working with my first company
    - Got H1B on Oct 2006 from my first company
    - Quit and move to another company in Dec 2006
    - Got H1B transfer completed on Apr 2007 from my secord company

Now I'm about to apply for Master Degree (I'll be still working full time with my second company)

My question is, Do I need to pay with International Rate still? Or will I be paying same as resident?

    Thank you

Even though your visa status may have changed, universities do whatever they can to get the most money they can. I believe they will still be charging you out of state tuition. This is not international tuition. It may have been explained at international tuition however it's really the same tuition that anyone who didn't reside in the same state before enrolling has to pay. It's considered out of state tuition prices. The reason you won't get in state tuition prices is because the whole time you've been here you were enrolled in the university. You did not live in the state for 6-12 mo without being enrolled. You are not considered a resident of the state for purposes of tuition. Hope this helps.

Hi, thank you 1badchoice for the respond.

I was on OPT then H1B from Jan 2006 until now (1yr and 5 months ago) without enrolling in University. Does this mean I'm qualify for resident rate tuition fee?

    Thank you

To be perfectly honest... I am unsure. As long as your visa status doesn't rely on the university... as student... they may actually charge you in state tuition. I cannot say for sure. I only know the situation my husband went through. Call the university registrar's office and pose question without giving details of name, etc. I would guess... you very well may get in state tuition. Sorry I can't give an absolute. Good luck.
