I live in an area with low water volume. I continue to run out of water. I had a softner put in that is used for home with low water, so it doesn't use as much water as a normal softner. When installed we noticed the bladder was bad on our pressure tank. Had it replaced in Feb. Worked great for awhile, but in the last week I am lucky to get a shower, load of dishes and 1 load of wash done without running out of water.

Today I only attempted to run 1 load of wash. Got the wash cycle done and when it went to refill to soak, NO WATER.

Any ideas would be great. Can't afford the plumber so trying to figure out myself.

If by, "low water volume" you mean a low water table you have answered your own question. Perhaps you just draw the water table down below the well point running you out of water. Or it could be that you're losing prime due to a faulty check valve.

Sorry about e-mail. 1st time user, was not real sure how to expand on question.

The house is very old. It has mostly galvanized pipes, with some new copper ran. The pressure gauge read 35. When turned the washer back on, filled for maybe a minute and gauge went down to 0. Never clicked on.

Are you saying the control box never called for pressure? Sounds like a faulty pump control box, (see image). Be sure to shut the power off at the breaker box if you replace it. Good luck, Tom

I seen this box and that was not replaced. It has some corrosion around the outside around the hole that is on the picture you sent. Could this be a problem or just replace the box?

If the box has power to it and the contacts aren't directing power to the pump the box is bad. Replace it. Good luck, Tom
