The general rule is to lose 2-3 pounds a week, this helps slowly lower body fat which equals permanent weight control, limiting weight regain. Anyone can lose weight fast, but it doesn't mean lowering body fat percentages. With rapid losses a large percentage is from fluid losses which you regain. Fluid is lost from the cells as the body burns remaining stores of carbs in muscles. Changing bad eating habits like sweets, chips, fast foods, fatty foods, sodas are a start on what not to eat. Serving size is very important, a serving size of meat is 2-3 oz, the size of an open palm. The general rule is eat smaller portions, exercise more. Eat leaner meats, chicken, or turkey breast, fish, loin type meats, fruits, veggies, lots of water and exercise 3-4 times a week.
