    Non strting powerstroke 7.3 1995 f-350
I have a 1995 f-350 powerstroke 7.3 and have just started having problems getting it started in the morning or after sitting for a while. I have read that the fule filter water seperater needs to be changed or drained every 5k miles. The dash light for water in fule just started flickering so that's probably the problem I'm thinking. Also what about the glow plugs could that be adding to my issue.Other than statrting issues it seems to run like a top any help or info on this matter would be greatly appriciated.

Yes, water and fuel contamination, in general, are big deals with diesels. It's imperative to change the water/fuel separator at least every 5,000 miles. Be careful who you buy your fuel from. It's also important to change the air filter regularly, to prevent damage to the turbo. Many people ignore regularly changing the antifreeze and adding SCA every 6 months, until cavitation ruins the engine. I love the 7.3L PSD and love working on them. They are the workhorse truck of Texas. If you get a Ford manual for your truck and perform the regular recommended preventive maintenance, your truck will last a long, long time. I'm a big advocate of using synthetic diesel engine oil (Amsoil 15W-40) and synthetic automatic transmission fluid (Amsoil Torque-Drive) in these vehicles.
