My query is , which of the compressors are good for the split air conditioners.--- the reciprocating or the rotary.

Out of the a/c in market i have selected samsung 2.0 ton / carrier 2.0 ton which is better and why ?

If it was me I would go with the scroll compressor. But also think which has the best warranty. I don't know any Samsung dealers in my area but I know a lot of dealers that are set up to do warranty with carrier.

I agree with T-Top, Stay with the scroll compressor if possible. Many manufactures are starting to discontinue hermetic recip. Compressors and are now recommending Scrolls for replacements. The scroll compressor will usually hold up better when problems such as refrigerant flooding accurse.
