Low Battery message on Maple/Chase Thermostat
I had a "low battery" message flashing on my Maple/Chase 0960T-1 programmable thermostat. When I replaced the batteries the low battery message remained on the display but this time, it was not flashing back and forth and none of the previous settings appeared on the display. None of the switches worked except the fan "on" and "off" switch.

Are you sure the batteries you installed are good? If so I would try turning off the power to the air handler/furnace, remove the batteries, then reinstall the batteries and turn it back on. This may reset the thermostat.

kbhowell, same problem, as is the same problem in the other thread. Read JackT reply, and started looking carefully at the controller, The reset button is directly left of the leftmost button (the change down button). I had done the same as others, replacing batteries over and over again, with no change (batteries were good, V.O.M. tested!)
It now works, and I have some heat (good, it is very cold here).

I always thought of Maple Chase thermostats as disposable. The batteries usually last longer than the thermostat itself.

Thank you thank you. Amazing that the instructions in the lid don't let you know about the reset button. When it finally got really cold - reached for the trusty internet - and voilą - the reset button works
