Is it permitted to drain a toilet 'directly' into a sanitary tee (closet flange into sanitary tee)? Toilet is in the center of an in-line plumbed bathroom with sink on one side, shower on the other.

Yes as long as it's vented. Please explain your layout. Two vents? A separate vent for the shower and the lavatory or is the shower wet vented by tieing it into the lavatory drain? Regards, TomQuote:

Try this on for size. One 2" lavatory vent to the roof while the lavatory drain ties into the main the toilet drain into. If the shower were on the same side as the lavatory you could tie to the lavatory drain and wet-vent the shower. However, since it's on the other side of the main you can't tie to the lav drain so a separate vent must be run for the shower and revented back to the lavatory vent. Sound like a plan?
