I'm looking for the name of a movie that I watched in the 70's or 80's. It had a woman who had a baby and named it Jorge with a J so that she would always be able to find him later. I think she left for some reason and later became friends with a man who happened to be his foster parent or a neighbor to his dad but she didn't know until later about the kid and then found out it was Jorge. I think the boy was around eight when they were reunited. My brother thought the name of the movie was "Why would I lie about something like that" but I couldn't find anything.

Cletus is a compulsive liar. He prefers the term 'fabrication' to lie though. When Cletus becomes a social worker he's assigned the case of a boy called Jorge (with a 'J') who was taken from his mother. Cletus sets out to reunite Jorge with his mother, but to do so he has to fabricate many a story to keep Jorge from being adopted. In search of the mother, Cletus meets and falls in love with a women's advice councillor.
