    Options for Dishwasher Waste line
In the past, I have always hooked up the dishwasher waste line to a sink drain waste "T" or to a garbage disposal "T". Is there an approved way to connect it directly to the 2" drain line that the sink is connected to? Or should I stick with what I have been doing.

In the current situation, the dishwasher is closer to the main drain line that the sink is. Only by a few feet.

Stick with what you're doing. To connect to the 2" drain you would have to install a trap plus the usual drip loop. Cheers, Tom
