    My Puppy won't eat!
 We got a five month old schnoodle (schnauzer/poodle) from a reputable breeder. We've only had her since Monday, she has been to the vets for the first round of shots, and does have some loose teeth. So maybe I'm panicking early, but she just shows no interest in eating. I thought maybe her mouth was sore because when you touch one of the loose teeth she really flinches. I've tried a couple of different flavors of soft food... no go. (the cat loves it though, I think he's gained 2 lbs from sneaking it  ) How long should I wait before I start freaking out, and should I try more flavors of canned food? Please help, we're new puppy owners, and all my research BEFORE we bought her never said anything about this! She is lively, and SO smart. We've already gotten very attached to her, I don't want to hurt her through my own ignorance. :( TYIA

Dump the soft food. That is the route to a finicky, overweight, sickly dog and nearly always the wrong thing to do. I have never seen a puppy not eat due to teething. She has gone long enough that maybe it is time to check back with the vet. It is no problem for a new puppy to not eat the first few days in its new home even if you stick to what the breeder was feeding as I suggest in my sticky. You would do well to read through the sticky, starting at https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/dogs/i...tml#post254171

OK, so I'll go home and start over, I've obviously been doing this all wrong, argh! I've been leaving the dry food down and trying to tempt her with wet food. So back to the drawing board! Thanks a lot, I'm off to do more puppy "research", so glad I found your board!:)
