    Passwords on a zip file
How do I put a password on a file I have zipped or on a folder I don't want others to have access to?!
    Please help please!

The last answer would have helped so thanks but we don't seem to have winzip , I understand I can buy this but is there any way without having to?

Create a zip file, then open it in WinZip and use Options > Password.

You didn't specify your OS, but since you can open the zip file without Winzip, I will assume you have Windows XP.

Open the zip file. Click File, then Add Password. Type the same password in both boxes.

Note: This will prevent someone from opening the files in the zip, but they can still see the file structure and file names without the password.

To password protect just a folder requires 3rd party applications, and unfortunately I have not used any to recommend.
