    Theft- Under 5000
Yea I am an idiot. I know that so please hold the insults.

I live in Toronto and I recently made a big mistake (works both ways) First off, I got greedy and stole a case in which I thought held two PS3's. However I took the wrong box and instead stole a case with two Mobile Audio Players (Mini TV's for you car, two in each box, and two boxes in each case) this is undeniable worth less then $5000. But I am still worried that I may be arrested (as I work at wal mart and was caught on camera) and charged criminally with a record.

Along with this I have taken countless items including DVD's, Ipod headphones, speedometers car accessories etc.

Does anyone know what could be the consequences of my actions?

Please remember I am living in Canada and the legal system is more laid back.

Yes, our legal system is more laid back.

I am going to assume this is your first offence.

The maximum sentence a Judge can impose on you for theft under 5,000 is 14 years in prison. There is no minimum sentence, so you could end up with probation.

Word of advice. If they charge you with stealing the 2 Mini Tv's for your car, and do not seem to know about the DVDs, Ipod Headphones, etc. that you stole, Don't mention it.

That will just increase the likelihood of jail time.

If you are charged, consult with a lawyer at the time.

And remember, do NOT answer/admit to anything until you speak with a lawyer. Even if they say they have evidence, they might be lying. The tape could have been erased for example.
