Hi everybody-my 2000 Honda Civic engine light came on. I took it to Auto Zone and emissions showed up. The Auto Zone guy said I probably have a leak in one of the hoses. He even noticed my car is really shaky. Is this something I can take care of myself? How do I go about doing that? By all means I am not a "car person" but if someone can tell me what to do-I'd rather give it a shot myself. Thanks... :)

What code was read? I doubt that hoses would've deteriorated on such a new Civic. Ensure each vacuum hose is attached firmly, with no leaks.

I don't know what the code was. He just said it said Emissions-and showed me on the little computer. Can you please tell me how I go about ensuring there are no leaks? I have noticed that one of the hoses at the very front is crackly. Do you know where I can get a diagram so I know what part is what and where?

You might try cutting off the "crackly" portion and just reattach. Otherwise, just contact your local Honda dealer and get a replacement section. They'll know what section you are describing.
