Hi, mygirlfriend of 3 years has said she is not hapy and needs to go to her mums to sort her head out. We have lived together for 2 years and she has gone to her mums before about a year ago, but she came back.

We don't really argue but we do bicker a lot about nothing and when she drinks at the weekend she is very firy to say the least. We don't spend any quality time together as just busy all the time so we just end up slipping back into the same routine as before. We have a massive bust up like this every 6-7 months about should we or shouldn't we stay together but the rest of the time I would say we are cool.

She is 23 and I am 25 her no previos real boyfriend me one serious girlfriend. We don't drink out together much as a couple because we row. She said she wanted space last night so I drove her to hermums to chill she gave me a nice kiss goodbye and then she got her suitcase and went. I stupidly text her in the early hours saying come home to me. The only response I had was "i just dont no if me and you will ever work, i asked for space and you havent given it to me just send me 1-2 texts that is ok" so I said I would give her her space towitch she said "thank you" do you think it is over or do you think she will be back? Any help would be good from you guy's and gal's

Do as she says and give her all the space she needs, Don't contact her, let her contact you.

Ultimately my friend it is not about who you end up being with forever or not its about being happy and having inner peace.. so I guess my advice to you is based on being happy within yourself more than keeping your g/f so here goes... first ask yourself two important questions..
1 - are you deep down inside actually happy being with this girl? To me it sounds like your relationship for the most part is miserable but only you know the answer to that question so don't be too offended by my assumption, I do not know either of you! Ha.. OK
If the answer is yes to question 1 then ask yourself 'could I live my whole life with this girl do I someday want to marry her? Are the things that bug me about her things I can tolerate until I die or we divorce (lol soz couldn't resist last bit hey.. )?

If the answer is yes then you need to desperately find out if it is over or not.. best way to do it is make sure she knows she can't walk all over you and use you like her personal doormat so.. do not try to contact her under any circumstance unless she contacts you first, and to begin with keep your responses brief as if your really too busy for her, force her to initiate contact, go out meet lots of new girls, catch up with your friends, basically keep yourself busy to the point where you find that you no longer feel the "need" to contact your ex soon enough IF she's still keen she'll start to wonder hey why isn't he contacting me, I asked for space not to be ignored! And start getting angry... then she'll start getting back in touch, if this doesn't happen then she's not interested and well, you will have a busy schedule of things to do so it won't matter anyway because you'll be happy which is I think the most important thing on the planet to be happy with or without your partner :)
