    Can I reapply ITIN ?
    Hi:

I applied ITIN for my wife along with my Federal return and sent to Austin,TX and after 7 weeks I haven't got any response from IRS now I called IRS and they are saying wait for another week.

Is it possible to reapply for ITIN along with my tax return again, if apply now is it going to be problem(because tax return filing deadline already passed).

    Thanks
    Ram

    Ram:

Continue working with the IRS. Wait until they admit that they have not received the W-7 and tax retun before you re-submit.

    Hi ,
I am also in the same boat.I applied for my wife's ITIN on 10th march and called them after almost 7 weeks and they asked to wait another 2 weeks before submitting again.I guess they have a lot of applications and it is usual to wait this long before they can process the applications.

The application volume picks up in February and continues unabated though April. That is why the IRS wants you to wait.

Re-submitting the application (unless the IRS specifically requests that you do so) will only further delay a response from the IRS.
