    Parasitism
What is an example of parasitism in the temperate deciduous forest biome?

    HANK
    Biome:
In the wetter and more productive biomes, the plants compete mainly for light. In fact, the most productive biome - tropical rainforest - has a vertically structured community of plants, with canopy trees, climbers, understorey trees and shrub and ground layers.

Actually I am doing a project about temperate deciduous forest, so we need a example of parasitism, do you know some of the example?

    Two Examples:
Parasitism is a relationship between two organisms in which one organism benefits at the other organism's expense. LICE are an example of a parasite that affects many animals. TERMITES are a parasite that are destructive to many trees. Parasitism is a type of symbiosis. You might wish to research symbiosis.

    Hope this helps.

I think termites actually is an example of parasitism in a deciduous forest, but I could be wrong. Biology is not my favorite science class :)

    Correct:
You're not wrong, Dr. C. Thanks for answering!

    Yay!
It makes me happy that I answered correctly. Maybe I'll be able to pass my AP biology exam after all !

Actually, plants competing for light would be an example of competition.
The funny thing is I got a project just like that. The examples I found were simple. Mosquitoes
And ticks are some examples. Male mosquitoes drink plant juices though.
