Brown discharge, no period, absolutely not pregnant, no birth control?
Hi, I'm 18, have had my period for 5 years, always been a little strange without a specific schedule. This month I got no period, just brown discharge, it went away for a couple days, then came back. All the other posts suggest stress and I did just have final exams, but when looking at other sites they say it could be a lesion or a HPV. Is this anything to worry about, my period ussually only lasts a 3 days, the first discharge came for about 4 days, gone for 2 and then back again for 3 so far. I do not take birth control, and am not having sex ( kind of glad or else id be freaking out right now). What could this be? Does this happen to a lot of people? Takes me about 3 months to get in with my doctor, and I'm don't want to go to emerg or a walk in clinic. I doubt stress because I just finished exams, I should be stress free. Please help me, I'm very worried about it being something serious.

Sounds like what is called "spotting". I'm not sure but I think some women just plain don't get a period under high physical stress. YOu can call a place like planned parenthood and tell them your symptom and you are unsure whether you need to be seen for this. Usually those clinics are very kind and forthcoming with general information. But they would still encourage you to set an appointment. Also your regular doctor should have a nurse on staff who can give you a little advice over the phone. Exams are stressful and that could have had an impact on your period.

even though you have just finished your exams you could be stressed about the results, and also just because you are not aware of being stressed it doesn't mean your not, there could be things on your mind your not aware of. Ginaforsyth is right you definitely need to talk to someone if you are concerned, just worrying about that can cause your period to be late, mine are late all the time... or were... good luck =) try not to worry until you've spoken to someone it may be nothing.
