I live in Orlando, Florida and I need to know what the laws are in this state governing breaking a lease. I was told that there is a law in Florida that states that you can break a lease by giving a 45 day notice. Does anyone know if this is true or not? Please let me know asap.

No, you are obligated to the exact terms in your lease. Are you moving out of state, buying a home ? Why do you want to break the lease.
But if you were allowed to break a lease with a 45 days notice, they would just write a 45 day lease since anything else would not be binding.

I am sorry, and this is a reason I don't like leases and only do month to month rental on my homes I rent out. Have you just went to the landlord and just asked them what they may work out with you?
