    No Presents - $ preferred?
My fiance' and I have both been married before and really don't need or want anything in the way of Wedding gifts. My fiance' doesn't really even want to Register anywhere which is fine by me. We're having a very small wedding (relatives only, no bridal shower, etc.) and would like to say 'no gifts necessary' on our invitations. However... we realize people probably 'will' want to bring gifts regardless and understand this. In all honesty, money would be wonderful but know that it's tacky to request it via $-tree or otherwise. How can this be handled? In other words, IS there a tasteful way to request a monetary gift from our relatives instead? Thanks

If it is a very small with only close relations, why not take one you feel real close to and then let them sort of pass this around. If it is all close loved ones they would understand

Money may put people in an awkward situation... "how much do we give"... We married last year, just a small group of our friends since our family lives abroad and we did not want to throw a big wedding...

We did not register anywhere, went out for a lovely lunch with close friends and people gave us wonderful bottles of wine.
Being wine "collectors" that was a great idea.

Maybe there is something that you and your fiancée really like so you can get around the money issue ?

    Gardening..?
    Cooking?

Just throwing some ideas in... :)

Well if the family is close you could pass the word around, I agree there. Maybe gift cards?
