    Closet flange removal
Sorry if this is already posted, but I couldn't find what I needed.

I am installing a new subfloor and vinyl tile in our bathroom. I wanted to replace the closet flange due to rust, but I am having trouble removing it.

The black pice in the center (see attached image) is obviously glued in somehow and so I can't get the orange metal ring off--I haven't tried cutting it yet. I've read about cutting below the existing flange to replace it, but don't feel comfortable doing that. Is it possible to just cut the ole metal ring out and replace it? If so, is there a sectional flange to buy since I assume I would have trouble fitting a new flange over the black center piece?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

You have a problem my friend,
You have two options, (1) cut out the old flange and replace with a inside flange or (2) keep the old flange. If the old flange is still usable,( and it looks like it is,) I'd opt for door number two. Good luck, Tom
