Filters on phone lines for DSL
My question involves moving my DSL from one phone jack to another. When I first got DSL I received a kit with all of the filters. Problem was the filters did not work for some reason. So my phone company sent a technician to install filters directly on the line. That worked great.

Now I've moved my PC to another room. Last time I did this, I had to have a technician come in to move the DSL line for me. It cost me like $100.00! I'm curious if there is a simple way for me to do this myself. I'm currently running a phone extension cord from the current DSL jack to my PC, but it's affecting the performance of my modem an the connection.

Is there a way to change it to a jack in the room my PC is in?

    Thanks for any help.

I think we can figure this one out - and save you some $$ here. First thing: Where exactly did the phone person install these 'line filters'? Answer this question and we can go from there!

Sounds like Outdoor DSL filter. They are great, You don't need filters all over the place.
Only thing is they need a pair to go to computer location. Red/Green pair for voice and Yellow/Black for DSL. Use a double phone jack at that location. Can you describe Jack wiring at DSL Jack, and do you have Visible Filters?

Or White/Blue Pair for Voice and White/Orange pair for DSL
