Can physiotherapist be called a doctor? Doctors can perform surgery and prescribe medicine which physico cannot.

The professor that teaches English is called a "doctor" your dentist is called a "doctor". Many ministers, have advanced degree and are called DR. ( i.e. DR Martin Luther King)

The difference is the type of doctor they are, MD, ND PHD and so on.

Medical doctors do surgary ( well most but not all)
