    My motor is shaking
I just took my 91 honda civic for a 5 hour ride yesterday in the pouring rain. About half way in the trip my car started losing speed so I got on the side of the road and turned it off. After 10 minutes of letting it cool off I drove it the rest of the way. Sometimes it would lose speed/other times it would gain speed. I'm assumed that the engine was hot and/or something got wet underneath from all the water. Today I started it two times and it keeps shaking, although not as bad as yesterday. When I took it around the block it didn't stall, it stays running, and it doesn't put, it just shakes. And the smoke coming out of the muffler smells like gas. I'm assuming the gas pump but can anyone help me please?!

Could be no worse than some wet wiring. Take a paper towel and dry off the spark plug wires, coil wire, and inside the distributor cap. They also make sprays to remove water. Look for them with auto supplies. Unless you know the wires are less than 5 years old, it may be a good idea to replace them. Never remove more than one wire at a time.

Poor spark could cause the shaking, low power, and gas smell.

I agree, if you're smelling gas it might be you're getting a weak spark and not igniting fuel as efficient as you should. How old are your spark plugs, distributor rotor and distributor cap? It might not be a bad idea to replace them if you have no idea how old they are.
