    Collecting my last paycheck
So I was working for a gym and the owners sold the gym to another company. I was told that my paycheck would be in the mail, it is four plus months later and still I have not received a check. I call the owners and they told me that they are filing bankruptcy. What should I do now? What are my next steps?

They may be lying about bankruptcy, sue them in small claims court.

But if they do go bankrupt you are just out your paycheck

Payroll is not included in any bankruptcy proceeding. All payroll gets paid before any other debtors. Contact the DA's office in your area and the Deparatment of Labor Wage and Hours Division.

I am sorry hithtran, but I have been there and done that, when a company I was a manager for went bankrupt, the employee is just another unsecured debtor and will normally get nothing,
