    Child support
So I recently got married. My husband is disabled and I am the one who pays most of the bills. My husband has child support taken out of his checks automatically from the government but he is behind. This year we filed jointly and I was just notified the taxes I was supposed to get back are being held for child support. Can they do that? I pay most of the bills because after child support my husbands disability check is about 700 dollars a month. I am drowning in the bills and really needed that money, Any suggestions on fighting this?

You can file an injured spouse filing, and those funds that are yours will be paid, those funds because received because ofyour husband will be keep

Agreed. The Injured Spouse Form 8379 is the way to go.

However, it will take at least a month and maybe 2-3 months before you get your money.
