My best friend got kicked out of high school in his last year before he was going to graduate... it pretty clear that he is unable to graduate this year... but what could he do as an high school alternative if there is such a thing?

What exactly is a GED?

If you follow the link it explains

Scott's GED may be a quick solution if your friend was expelled. Expulsion is for the remainder of the current year but can be up to two years depending on the circumstances. Some neighboring school districts may accept him as a tuition paying out-of-district student but I never would. He might also consider working this year and trying to go back next year with a better understanding on how to void whatever got him in hot water.

He could also try home schooling.
