Cooled boiled water is normally given around the 4 month stage when they start solids.
My baby is ten weeks old and I also have a five year old when my five year old was first born I gave her cooled boiled water I'm also giving it to my baby now. The milk they have is there food so they need a drink. Your baby probably won't drink much of it but try it as much as you like out of a slow flow teat. Prepare for some spluttering lol xx
It won't hurt to give them water every once in a while. Just don't sub it for a feeding.Quote:

My daughter is 10 weeks old and the only time the doctor wants me to give her water is if she want to eat her bottles before at least two and a half hours apart
Water is not necessary at all for infants, unless they are dehydrated from illness. Breast milk and baby formula are all the food and liquids a baby needs. In fact, giving your baby water will fill his/her stomach causing the baby to eat less.
I agree. I have 3 girls and my youngest is 10 weeks. I have never given any of my kids water. The breastfeed or bottle feed and that's it. They don't need something to wash the milk down. Good mom for asking though. Not that water can hurt them, but they don't need it.Quote:

I agree. Baby will just end up with water in the tummy instead of something nutritious, like breast milk of formula (which are both mostly water). If your baby had a high fever that might be a different story, but probably not.Quote:
