    Who is the Father?
Ok I have an issue. Its really embarrassing. I am currently 32 weeks pregnant and I'm wondering on who the father of my baby is. I have some facts that I thought would help me figure out my question and its seems that I'm still not convinced with the answer I'm getting. I had my last period on Sept of 06. Before that I had sex with another guy about a week before I got my last period. After I had my period I never had sex with anybody else besides my boyfriend. I found out I was pregnant in late Oct and I got an ultrasound done. I was about six weeks pregnant at that time and I asked the doctor when I conceived. She said according to my ultrasound results I had conceived Oct. 1 and I was due June 24th. My main question is could I have been pregnant before I had my period? Could the ultrasound be wrong? I've heard of implantation bleeding but they say when you have that its not a normal period and from what I remember mine was normal. Please help me. Im desperate for help! :(

If your period was normal, I am going to vote that the baby is your boyfriends. Is he aware that the paternity is in question?

The ultrasound measures weight and size and could be used to give an approximate conception date. I don't understand how they could have pinpointed a specific date unless ultrasounds have changed tramatically in the last 6 years.

No my boyfriend is not aware of the problem. My ultrasound caculated my due date and than that's how the doctor determined when I conceived. Thank you for helping me!

I have never heard of calculating a due date by ultrasound. My daughter was abnormally large due to gestational diabetes and my son was small due to a genetic problem. I wonder how those complications would change a due date.

My doctor determined my due date by calculating from my last period. I thought that was the way it was done for everyone. Learn something new everyday.

Ya that what I always thought too, but the doctor told me that the earlier you get an ultrasound done the more accurate it is. I had mine done at 6 weeks. Than in my second trimester my due date changed form June 24 to June 18. I started to get confused and she told me to relay on the first due date (June 24).

I would guess that the baby is your boyfriends if your period was normal. An implantation bleed is spotting and shorter than a normal period. I believe it is impossible to give a precise due date unless you know exactly when you conceived, anyway your baby will come when he/she wants to. Hope this helps.

The only way to know for sure that the baby is your boyfriends or the other guys is to get a paternity test. Short of doing this you will have to continue to guess. Unfortunately that is the way it goes but like the others said if you cycles are regular then it should be your boyfriend's. Good Luck

If your doctor told you by ultrasound you conceived approx. Oct. 1st then that is normally correct. Sometimes your Ultrasound can be a few days to a week off but, it's not a whole month off. The reason they tell you 6 weeks and most people are thinking they are only 4 weeks is because the egg is already 2 weeks old when it is fertilized most of the time on a 28 day cycle. If you have a shorter cycle then the egg is younger, if you have a longer cycle then the egg is older. Anyway, it sounds like this baby is your boyfriend's, why don't you get a paternity test anyway just keep from possibly hurting him later on down the road if the baby is not his.
