    Get me out!
I just purchased my home in October, but I am having extreme relationship problems and desperatly want to leave my boyfriend. But the mortgage is in my name because his credit is a train reck, but he is the one who actually makes the house payment and I pay the other bills. I just want all of it to go away so I can move on and be happy again. But I don't know how to get out of this mortagage without having to stay here till its sold. My home sat for 2 years until we purchased it, so selling won't be quick. I just don't know what to do and I just want out. Someone please HELP ME!!

Sorry, but there is really no help we can give except find a buyer or have the boyfriend obtain his own financing. As long as your name is on the mortgage, you will have to make sure payments are made.

I agree that this is just a terrible financial decision that is either going to cost you emotionally or financially.

What are the terms of your loan? How much down? Any equity?

Consider taking on tenants to make up the income when you have the partner leave. As others have asked, it would help to know what the value of your home is, fast sale price, and what mortgage amount is outstanding. Also what type of work you do.

CLean up the house, and list it for as low as you can and still be able to pay off the mortgage. Or else, just move and default and let the bank foreclose. But--you will have to evict your boyfriend, since technically he is a tenant paying rent.

How may bedrooms? This may be an off the wall way of handling this, but why not rent out the extra rooms to cover your costs. You can either stay there or move somewhere else. Maybe he will get sick of living with strangers and move on. Then you can sell the house or keep it as a rental.
