    Hampton Bay Fan uninstallation
Does anybody know how to uninstall a Hampton Bay ceiling fan? There is a lot of information of wiring and installation, but uninstalling seems to be a bit more difficult. This specific model (Model 36290) does not have any screws directly connecting the fan to the ceiling?

Not so, fans come down easier than they go up. Carefully inspect the collar at the top of the drop rod. I'd be very surprised if you don't find 3-4 small screws holding the collar. Kill the power at the breaker. Remove the screws and drop the collar. You will see a black plastic ball hanging in a bracket. You should be able to lift the fan about an inch and it will come out. Remove the wire nuts to the power before lifting. I have not installed this particular fan but the mechanics of fan hangers is pretty similar with other models and brands.

Remember the ceilign screws are hidden under a little plastic ring that is easily removed :)
