Eviction Due To "Unsafety" of the Building
I know someone who received a notice from his landlord that the apartment he is renting, month to month, is unsafe; and, that he has 15 days in which to move. Legal? Or not? He has lived in the same apartment through 3 owners over a course of approximately 14 years. It is prime Fort Lauderdale property, one block from the beach.

If he doesn't have a year long lease then yes, he is renting month to month, they don't have to renew the lease each month from my understanding. If they intend to make repairs that he can't be there during he can see if they will draw up a lease to begin on the date the repairs are finished and return then... just a thought

    Hello ms:

No, month to month means exactly that. 30 days notice is required. This isn't about eviction. It's about notice.
