    Mysterious bathtub water?
    Hello,
I live in an apartment complex. One morning I woke up and found my bathtub was filled to the brim with dirty water. I would describe the water as sooty, leaving an almost a dirt residue. This problem does not occur all the time. Yesterday I was giving my daughter a bath and water started to come up through the closed drain and some water even came in through the drain handle. I then realized that the upstairs neighbor was taking a shower.
I am not sure what the problem is. The apartment management came out months ago on a previous/similar scenario and used a power "draino" type substance and the problem was alleviated for a while. But it slowly gets back to normal. Neither my wife or I use the tub for anything but showers. Any help or pointers would be appreciated.

I think the landlord has to use one of those ultra long 'plumbers snakes' and get to the heart of the matter because it sounds like a clog somewhere between apartments.

Tickle's correct. You have a bkockage downstream from your bathtub. The sewer will have to be snaked by a sewer machine. Good luck, Tom
