    Intermittent blower
Today was the first day I turned on the A/C. and I'm having an intermittent blower motor problem. Everything comes on fine, but the blower motor inside the house will only run for a minute or two then shut off, but the ac unit outside keeps running? Anybody have any idea what I need to check?.

It could be a relay or the motor could be going bad. Does the blower motor come back on after it turns off by itself? See if the motor is overheating. Let the blower run in A/C mode. Then when the blower cuts off TURN OFF THE POWER TO THE INSIDE UNIT and feel the blower motor with your hand. If it is real hot the motor is probably defective. I put the instructions in LARGE CAPS so you would read it and turn off the power for your safety.

If the motor is just warm then it could be the blower fan relay that kicks the motor on during cooling.

Yes after a minute or two the motor comes on by itself. I'm at work now so can't check the temp of the motor, but I will when I get home. Thanks...

Sorry about that, it was a false alarm. I did a reset on my thermostat and started back up last night and it ran for about 2-3 minutes and the inside unit cut off, I unpluged it and felt the motor and it was quite hot. Also noticed it was very dusty, do you think it's shot or could it just need to be taken out and cleaned up?
    Thanks for your help also...
