    Landlord forecloser/ tennants rights?
My boyfriend and I have rented a house from our landlord for 2 1/2 years. Today we found out that the house we rent is going to be auctioned off at the sheriffs sale on May 23, 2007. We have received no notice from our landlord, or eviction papers. No one came and posted a letter on our door either. What are our rights?? We have heard that if we are not out of this house that whom ever buys it on the 23rd, that they will own all of our property. Is this true? We are both disabled and are looking, for another place, but shouldn't we be notified about this?? At this point there is no lease it is month to month.

The landlord isn't evicting you but I'd guess he hasn't paid his taxes either. Whoever buys the house at auction is not obligated to continue your lease. I would look very hard to find a new place unless you are in a good position to buy the house yourself. It will likely go for fair below market valve in a foreclosure sale.
