    It's the economy stupid
It is a lesson forgotten and relearned since Bubba's 1992 election.

Tuesday the Repubs got trounced in states from the bluest of blue to the reddest of red. (Alabama lost it's Repub super majority). The Dems won in placing lefties into office. from the highest state offices ;to city and down ballots (Georgia Public Service Commission ) They won in ballot initiatives . They won in PA adding a libs to the state Supreme Court . They flipped gains by the Repubs from just last year .
The Repubs bragged about the youth vote last year. Gone this year.

Most of the voters cited the economy for their decision. The VA Guv candidate tried to make it about social issues . He got trounced .

Couple of things . GOP is off track. They need to push back on Trump's tariffs. They are an economy killer. If SCOTUS doesn't do it (I think they will end much of the ill advised tariffs as unconstitutional) then the GOP leaders in Congress must).

Their reconciliation bill is the old Repub lite. Hold the line on spending increases and adopt tax gimmicks . They are not solutions. I know MAGA has rejected conservative pro-growth solutions ;but they must return to it to survive.

They have a year to get things right. It the Repubs become the majority in Congress then all bets are off. The rest of Trump's term will be fighting against impeachment.

One more thing. The Dems fight for Obamacare .It sucks but it is the only idea on the table. The Repubs must adopt and vigorously argue for a free market pro consumer solution to health care costs and access.
