Time to cancel the NY Slimes
If you ever exit the Interstate to get a bite to eat ;you probably see a Cracker Barrel restaurant . You see people lined up on the rocking chairs outside as they wait their turn to sit down to an old country comfort meal . You know .... chicken and dumplings .... fried eggs and grits ..... meat loaf and mashed potatoes. I have often eaten at one all over the country (except there were very few on them in NY )
Four years ago in the height of the cancel culture rage ;comments suggesting that the restaurants were racist were all over social media . You could see it in the name CRACKER . You could see it in the clientele .
So in 2023 they hired Julie Felss Masino as the CEO . She is in the process of making fundamental changes to the company.
She announced a revamp of the menu because well ..... since there has been no change in the menu for years( because there was no need to ) they were going to update it .
Stock holders reacted by beginning a sell off.
But the latest change is causing the stock to plummet.
Their new logo (revamped after 47 years ) takes the old dude leaning on a barrel off of the design. They replaced it with a boring generic yellow sorta barrel shape .
Yup the new logo gets rid of the barrel and the cracker
