The question I have is who should've been sitting at the Resolute Desk the last 4 years ? Jill ? The Emperor ? George Soros ?

As Musk's time at DOGE is coming to an end. He deseerves a thankyou from the United States for his efforts to bring efficiency to the government .
He risked his life ;his fortune to attempt this venture.

His leaving will be seen by the left that the criminal violence they used in protests was validated.

An aid to Tim Walz ;inspired by his bosses over the top rhetoric against Musk , decided to vandalize Tesla autos . Dylan Adams keyed 6 Teslas causing $21,000 in damage.

A Minnesota prosecutor decided that his crime aint no biggie . He was charged with paying for the damage . Nothing else. Not a bad sentence for a politically motivated crime by a government employee.

Musk took no salary ;had his personal wealth shrink as Tesla stock tanked at a loss of 71% (who wants to buy a car that will get fire bombed ?) . All this for the thankless task of trying to cut through bureucratic tape to solve what appears to be an impossible task.;..to keep the US from a sovereign debt crisis like we saw with Argentina and some Euro nations last decade.

Ayn Rand's books had heroes of capitalism that the left tried to destroy through cancel culture tactics. Musk is a modern day Howard Roark ;except he briefly entered government trying to save it . The heroes of Rand let the government destroy itself.

If your goal was to cut inefficiency, fraud and waste, cutting it with a chainsaw ain't the way to do it. A scalpel would be the correct tool. Clearly, IF Trump was serious, he would perform an audit on the suspect agency. A REAL audit, looking for REAL fraud could NOT be performed in short order.. It absolutely could not.

Cutting a big chunk of an agency only results in loosing GOOD employees while seeking bad ones.. Throwing out the baby with the bathwater seems an appropriate analogy.

Ex I totally agree .However the swamp does not tolerate even minor cuts .

In the real world a 5-10% cut in the workforce across the board is common. The government treats every job as sacrosanct and every employee laid off is going to result in someone dying .

That is what is being encountered . We will have to learn the hard way. Mandatory cuts will come with austerity . We are close . We pay more in interest than any of the agencies budgets . It will get worse as the world is losing faith in the dollar.
