NY takes it's tax confiscations national
Not content with screwing the people of NY . NY Guv Kathy Hochul signed a bill to tax the whole nation since NY'ers are already taxed to death.
This landmark legislation shifts the cost of climate adaptation from everyday New Yorkers to the fossil fuel companies most responsible for the pollution.

She thinks the energy companies will pay the "shift " . But as frequently mentioned ;companies in return" shift" costs to customers .
Under the plan ,some egg head sitting on a desk in Albany will determine what each company's contribution to climate change will be.
This is a blatant money grab. No doubt the funds will be put into a pot of funds that taxes targeting specific use get pooled to be used as general revenue. (think the lottery "tax" that is supposed to fund education )
A couple years ago NY lost when they tried to sue energy companies that they claimed were responsible for climate change.
