Assuming they select Kam the Sham as their standard bearer they need to select a VEEP candidate. I assume they will want to balance the ticket which means that California Guv Newsom is out. They probably don't want a crazy loon lefty or anyone from the SQUAD . They probably want someone who is from a battleground state. They probably want someone who has actually lead .

They do have a bench that were prepared for a drubbing in 2024 and were planning to make their move in 2028 .

Among them are :
Illinois Guv Pritzker . He runs a failed state and is a lefty loon.
Guv Whitmer Michigan of the fake kidnapping. Would the Dems put 2 women on the ticket ?

Senator Mark Kelly Arizona the only non-Guv on my list . He's a former astronaut who flew 3 shuttle missions ; and a Navy combat pilot who flew missions during Desert Storm .He's also spouse of Gabrielle Gifford . Gun control would become a hot topic. He is a solid choice.

Guv Roy Cooper NC . NC is a battleground state that often trends red. His strength is that he won Guv as a Dem . He is a safe pick in that he has a working relationship with Kam.

Guv Josh Shapiro Pennsylvania . If they had any brains he should be the frontrunner. Pa. often determines the outcome. One big issue. He is Jewish and that could be a divisive issue for the radical Dem antisemites . He is a natural leader successfully governing a state with a divided government . For the Dems he is considered "moderate" .

All of that is under the presumption that Harris is their choice for Prez.

So far the emperor has not given his official blessing . Instead he said he has “extraordinary confidence that the leaders of our party will be able to create a process from which an outstanding nominee emerges.”

Shapiro according to reports is emerging as one of the front runners for the reason noted above . He is the popular Guv of a must win state for them.

If Trump wins the state and Shapiro's brand is tarnished he will be finished .
