The Chickens are Coming Home to Roost.
Mayor Adams is having to start facing the harsh realities of life. It turns out that wanting to appear noble and honorable while not having to personally do anything is still difficult.

    Quote:

Mayor Eric Adams stressed with a sense of urgency that New York City has run 'out of room,' as the escalating migrant crisis engulfs not only the Big Apple, but other major cities across the U.S.
"Our hearts are endless, but our resources are not," the NYC mayor recently told Fox Nation. "It's not like New York is not saying we are not a city of immigrants. We are. We have a rich history of immigrants, but we can't take the global problem and it become our problem. That is unfair to New Yorkers, and is unfair to migrants."
Thanks to New York City's sanctuary city policies, Eric Adams faces a predicament – the city is bursting at the seams and is struggling to find places to house everyone yet - thanks to these policies - he is unable to hand migrants who are repeat offenders over to I.C.E.

Thanks to a "right to shelter" rule enacted in the 1980s, he is also legally required to house everyone.
I'll go way out on a limb and suggest that Mayor Adams is not presently housing any illegal immigrants in his own house, and neither are the other governmental luminaries in NYC.

Finally some sanity in the Empire State . An appellate court overruled the ridiculous rule that would've allowed non citizen -legal migrants to vote in municipal elections in the state. This is a law Mayor Adams signed in 2022. But the law clearly violated the state constitution.

NYC's noncitizen voting law ruled unconstitutional (pix11.com)

    Fossella v Adams (nycourts.gov)

The voter role would've been increased by at least 10% allowing over 800,000 non-residents the vote.
New York is about to let noncitizens vote. It could reshape local politics forever. - POLITICO

Not only did the law violate the plain language of the constitution (“every citizen shall be entitled to vote" ; it also violated NYC's Home Rule Law which required that any change to the law needed to be passed by referendum (as NYCs insane rank choice system was adopted by a vote ).

I hope this is a trend that reversed the trend of allowing non-citizen voting .

It's the same tired song of liberals wanting to appear noble by doing that which either costs them nothing OR, in this case, profits them by probably increasing the number of dem voters. Thankfully, the rule of law is, however feebly, prevailing.

I've wondered the same thing. An intelligent repub candidate could ask in a debate, "If that is a good idea now, then why didn't you do it from the beginning?" Trump, sadly, will not.

Denver was never officially designated a sanctuary city. Yet it has always perceived itself as one.
In the chickens coming home to roost theme we see that welcoming all these illegal aliens into the city comes with a price . It is a price that will cost the city's residents some of it's quality of life.

In days the city is going to start cut services . They began with the Parks and Recreation services.

    Quote:

The cuts in service to Denver Parks and Recreation do not involve layoffs for current employees. However, hourly workers can expect fewer hours, and on-call and seasonal workers will be most impacted
    .
Cuts to Denver Parks & Rec services begin Tuesday with reduced days, hours - CBS Colorado (cbsnews.com)

The mayor says these cuts are just a start . He promises to make 'equal cuts ' across the city services .

In other words for the workers this is layoffs by another name. If the reduced hours means the employee can't make ends meet ; the city is graciously allowing them to apply for unemployment .

Some city employees' hours cut as part of Denver budget cuts | 9news.com

This of course has an immediate impact on the legal and tax paying residents who's routines include the use of things like recreational centers .

Denver budget cuts face scrutiny as recreation centers reduce hours (denverpost.com)

The city is diverting $4.3 million from it's budget to service the
36,000 illegals that have shown up since 2022.

BTW a new Monmouth poll finds the majority of American now want a border wall built.

    Quote:

A majority of the public (53%) supports building a wall along the U.S. border with Mexico, compared with 46% who oppose it. During the Trump administration, support for this project registered no higher than 44% and stood as low as 35%. Support stood at 48% the first time Monmouth asked this question (September 2015) and 42% the last time this question was included in one of Monmouth’s national polls (April 2019). Compared to public opinion nine years ago, support for building a border wall has increased by 13 points among Republicans (from 73% to 86%) and 11 points among independents (from 47% to 58%), but it has declined by 14 points among Democrats (from 31% to 17%).
Most (61%) Americans say immigrants seeking political asylum at the border should be made to stay in Mexico while their claims are processed. Just 35% say they should be allowed into the U.S. while they wait. Five years ago, slightly more supported allowing asylum-seekers to wait in the U.S. (41%) while the number who wanted them to stay in Mexico (51%) was somewhat lower than it is now. Support for keeping asylum-seekers on the other side of the border as their claims are processed has increased among all partisan groups compared with 2019.

I wonder if the day might arrive when we start holding these elected officials responsible for deaths that occur as a result of their nonenforcement of the law.

Won't happen . Too many with blood on their hands. The random murder by an invading predator pales compared to the deaths from the illicit drug trade . Peter Schweizer's new book links the Biden crime family with Chinese businessman Ye Jianming (who Hunter Biden calls 'Chairmen Ye')

Scathing details reveal why Biden appears 'silent' on China's role in fentanyl crisis: book (yahoo.com)

Ye along with a Chinese drug lord gangster nicknamed 'White Wolf' (head of UBG ..United Bamboo Gang)gave Hunter an $80,000 diamond and a $5 million interest free forgivable "loan" . Ye and White Wolf set up Shanghai Zhenrong Petroleum Company which is the front company for the export of raw material for fentanyl to the Sinaloa Cartel (run by 'El Chapo' Guzman) in Mexico . They manufacture the drug and smuggle it into the US. (Ye has since "disappeared " )

Flashback . An investigation by El Universal alleged that since 2000 -2012 . The US government (that would be Bubba ;GW Bush and the emperor) had a deal with the Sinaloa Cartel that in exchange for information on the other cartels ,the Sinaloa's would have unimpeded drug smuggling. 'Operation Fast and Furious' was part of the deal . The US government helped arm them Presumably the arrangement continued.

Texas Guv Greg Abbot has accused the Quid administration of allowing the cartels to human traffic . Clearly there is a financial incentive for the Biden Crime Family in the border invasion.

All of this should be of great alarm and concern to everyone, and yet I doubt that a single lib will take even casual notice of it here. Certainly all of the noble members of the fourth estate should be writing stories even now, but that will not be the case. They are, for the most part, too busy trying to cover up for the Fani Willis types.

Joe went to Brownsville Tx ;a sector relatively under control (6 people illegal crossed there Wednesday) compared to Phoenix or San Diego. Then he alternated between saying he will take executive action while claiming he can't do anything about it until Congress votes to give aid the Ukraine (the border provisions are in the same bill) . The border is in the shape it is in because on day one of his term ;Joe took action to reverse Trump's policies and then invited the invading horde in. So much for the claim that he is powerless to do something.

Reality has an irritating way of making its presence felt.

    Quote:

If a migrant is arrested in New York, the NYPD is barred from communicating with federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement to determine whether the migrant should be deported, jailed or allowed back on the street.

On Monday, Adams stated clearly that sanctuary status must be changed so migrants who commit felonies can be picked up by ICE and deported. He's said it before. Now it needs to happen.

Jose Antonio Ibarra, 26, entered the U.S. from Venezuela illegally in Sept. 2022, was granted "parole" under Biden's policy and came to New York on a bus. While here, he was arrested once but not detained. Now he's charged with murdering (Laken) Riley, who was out jogging on the University of Georgia's Athens campus.
Now the big question concerns what kind of idiots do we have in government who would establish a policy where felons are not turned over to ICE for deportation.

You have to understand that the motive for allowing them to terrorize outweighs the need to control them . Since the days of Tammany Hall ;NYC pols have changed the voting demographics by flooding the streets with immigrants .

Gangs of New York - Landing of the Irish in NYC Harbour (youtube.com)

Adams is late to understanding the consequences because his political neck is in the noose.

What really changed is that although the Dems have historically supported immigration ; with LBJ they no longer cared about the quality of the migrant ;or the need for them to integrate .

Now we know how Clueless intends to reduce the pressure on the border . He is directly flying them in. Over 300,000 were dropped off at 43 different airports across the US directly from their home nations .
He has managed to turn every state of the union into a border state,

This is how it works . They have been distributing cell phone that have a Customs and Border Protection App(CBP app) .
These allow the illegals to apply for asylum in their country instead of travelling to the border 1st and applying after they illegally cross over.

Then the administration picks them up and flies them in.

It took a FOIA suit to get this info.

    Quote:

Included in details of a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit first reported by Todd Bensman, the Center for Immigration Studies found Biden's CBP approved the latest secretive flights that transported hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants from foreign countries into at least 43 different American airports from January through December 2023.
The program was part of Biden's expansion of the CBP One app, which kicked off at the start of last year.
Migrants were able, under Biden's expansion, to apply for asylum using the app from their home countries.
But the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) notes that the transportation of these migrants directly to the U.S. is one of the lesser known uses of the app.
Aliens who cannot legally enter the U.S. use CBP One to apply for travel authorization and temporary humanitarian release from those airports.
Under this parole release, migrants are able to remain in the U.S. for two years without obtaining legal status and meanwhile are eligible for work authorization.
