It's come to this. A community group in Chi-town is asking gang bangers to refrain shooting at each other between 9 AM to 9 PM. I kid you not,

“If people know that after a certain hour, the likelihood of them being shot by an unknown and unprovoked assailant are at a higher risk, they will be less likely to be out and about, and they may become more proactive with the supervision of their children,” she continued.

Unfortunately, the shooters don't shoot only each other. They shoot at, wound, and/or kill any human who comes within range. The random ("just because I can") shootings used to be mostly within city limits. No longer! Now they're happening in the suburbs -- at first in the wealthier suburbs and now in any suburb. "Hey! I bought this gun. I want to use it for something -- to show off how powerful I am, and hopefully to make me rich too!"

Chi-town should be embarrassed that is comes down to begging criminals to adhere to self imposed curfews . Hint even curfews need to be enforced by the power of law.

When the family disintegrates, the results are not good. The out-of-wedlock birth rate in the black community has been at 60% or above for decades now. Still, nothing is being done about it beyond a collective "yawn".

We are going to have to start behaving as though family (dad,mom,kids) is important. It's going to take a huge cultural change. Traditional marriage must be honored. The great single-parent experiment must be recognized as having been a titanic failure.
