I guess it shouldn't be surprising that it is a fed holiday. Practically any "holiday" will qualify for that now, but it does seem ridiculous.
It is saddening because I think a day that celebrates our founding principles should be celebrated joyfully and peaceably . It should be a day that recognizes the progress the nation has made ;not one that is divisive.
Give you an example . The city of Greenville had a banner celebrating promoting "Juneteenth, An Upstate Celebration of Freedom, Unity, & Love.”
What could be wrong with that ?

The problem was that the couple on the banner were Whites. Now keep in mind that several banners were displayed with Blacks ;Hispanics Asians and Whites .

But Some Blacks threatened to boycott the event .Over 50 banners were hung across Main Street in Greenville to honor of the upcoming 3-day festival in the city, hosted by the nonprofit organization Juneteenth GVL Inc. One of the banners featuring a White couple went viral after locals spoke out against it.

The committee apologized
"We acknowledge this mistake having been made and will correct the error quickly. This error was an attempt at uniting all of Greenville and, thereby, a slight oversight on one individual’s part that prevented us from fully embracing the rich potential and celebrating the depth of the black culture through the message and meaning of Juneteenth and for that, we apologize to you the entire community."
So is this a NATIONAL Holiday for the WHOLE Nation to celebrate ? Or is this an exclusive celebration for one group of people ?

Here was this year's event at the White House . Clueless froze for over a minute during a sing-along . Then he mumbled incoherently .

And yet somehow he has still managed to hoodwink 37% of the American people into still supporting him. Incredible.
