The FAA lambasted Southwest Airlines for system failures . How does a system wide failure that completely shuts down air travel rank ?

Southwest stranded 2 million passangers . Immediately there were calls for more Federal control of the system.
Then days later the FAA shut down the nations air system with a complete system failure .

Southwest is paying a terrible price . The nation travelers are punishing them with their purchase power. They are projected to lose a $ billion+

What about the FAA failure of the NOTAM system?
Well Mayor Pete pledged to get to the bottom of it . It is likely to cost the American traveler and taxpayer a fortune in expensive upgrades. That is if they ever get around to it.

Legislation to upgrade has been proposed since 2019. The bill stalled in the Senate in 2021. Trump proposed major overhauls of the FAA in 2017 that went nowhere in Congress. Almost all other rich countries have spun off air traffic control operations into a government-owned corporation or non-profit user cooperative. But because it was Trump proposing it ... it was rejected .
