Hampton Bay Lighting - Upper Light Does Not Work But Low Light Does
I have a Hampton Bay Fan that has a fan, upper lighting and lower lighting with a remote model UC7078T. The remote works for the fan and lower lighting but not the upper lighting. This means the remote and fan are on the same frequency. I've confirmed that the bulbs are all good. Can't find a manual for the fan to understand how the wiring should go. What's a good way to break this down/troubleshoot?

    Thanks!

Did the upper lighting work at one time? How does the remote behave when you attempt to control the upper lighting?

I actually have two of the same fans in the same room and the remote controls both of them simultaneously (meaning that when they are both powered on and I hit the lower lighting control, both fans lower lights come on. Same for Fan operation). The remote control manages the upper light normally on the one fan but nothing happens on the other fan. I gauge that this is a good indication that the remote is working properly.

I did change the DIP switch on both the remote and the fan I am having issues with but with the same effect. Lower and fan assemblies work fine but the upper light does not work.

I "inherited" the fan from the previous owner and can not attest to its history. I have no literature and do not know where the fan was purchased. No sure who I would contact for warrantly information.

Was suspecting a possible wiring problem but don't have a schematic of how it should be wired. At the least, I've checked the wiring only from the perspective that not cables were loose.

Thank you for the reply - any thoughts?

Yeah, your remote works fine, either the receiver in the one fan is bad or it's simply a bad connection, which it sounds like you checked for.

All Hampton Bay products come from Home Depot.

Sounds like a wire didn't get connected on the one fan. I'd check for any unconnected wires.
