    The left resorts to poison
    https://www.news.com.au/world/north-...115ca7d343d652

an attempt to poison Trump was intercepted as the campaign hots up. This demonstrates not only frustration with the political process, it underlines the stop at nothing intentions of the left

Paraclete, you are FULL OF IT. Famous people get death threats all the time. Obama's threat-ener is now spending 18 years in prison for sending ricin to him and two others. IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE LEFT!!!!

Why don't you read your own links?

Poison is a tool, it is apolitical, but this has political links to the US even if the person crossed the border to mail the articles. This is not the first time a president has been threatened in this manner, that is what I took from the article but of course it has to do with the left, the left opposes Trump who happens to be president at this moment. Do you think only left wing presidents get assassinated?

Where does it say there are political links? The northern border cannot be crossed right now because of COVID-19.

    It is only semi-closed.

Non-essential travel to the US includes mailing a letter.

Unless, of course, you have relatives in Canada, a job in Canada, or some other "essential function". All sorts of ways around that.

What does that have to do with the ricin-laden letter coming from Canada?

It was suggested above that someone from the U.S. might have gone into Canada to mail the letter. You suggested that could not happen since the border was closed. I am simply pointing out that it could have been done. It's not a big deal. Carry on. 8D

Didn't happen that way. Oh, and if it was an American, she probably picked up some cheap insulin and opioids while she was there and stopped at the Horseshoe Falls too. HEY! This could become a bestselling murder mystery!

How do you know it didn't happen that way, speaking of someone going into Canada to mail the letter? Honest question as I've not kept up with the story. At least you do seem now to understand that the border can be crossed.

seems logical someone would cover their tracks by mailing a letter from Canada, thereby obstructing US investigation

Okay, okay. You win! Some crazy person probably swam across the Upper Niagara River from the US to Canada, letter in a waterproof sack, and mailed the letter at a PO in a tiny village along the Welland Canal.

or they sent a parcel to an accomplice in Canada who mailed the articles to the US, either way it is unlikely to be a Canadian plot

That's how a liberal would do it, other than they would get the government to pay for it all. A reasonable person would simply find a believable, acceptable excuse to drive across, and then they'd mail the letter.

We know how a conservative would do it, they tried that with Obama. Seems they all used their own money, time and efforts.
