Confusing weight prob and other syptoms
I am a 38 year old female, I had a total hysterectomy when I was 27. I got married 8 years ago and I know that is normal to gain a little weight after marriage and such but I have gained 70 pounds and I am miserable. I don't eat too much. I don't eat fast food and I drink a considerable amount of water.. I can not lose the weight.. and I have tried..

But here is what is confusing me.. my hormone pills make my migraines increase so we stopped those.. I am on nothing now at all.. which is OK with me because of family history of cancer.. but I have gained all my weight almost in my upper abdomen.. and it looks like I am am pregnant and it is starting to depress me significantly.. :(

I hate the way it looks.. now before you say anything -- if you push on my stomach you can feel muscle but still it looks huge!! I walk 20-40 minutes every other morning and watch what I eat but still no help.. it feels tight and bloated all the time and I get gas a lot... I also have severe dry scalp and dry itchy patches all over my skin.. I don't sleep a lot and am fairly active...

I am very petite framed and am only 5 foot tall so to weight 180 makes me look obese.. my face is very round and looks puffy a lot of the time..

    Any suggestions or ideas?

Have you had any other tests run recently? Do you know if you have hypoglycemia? Hypothyroidism?

You should most definitely have these checked out, if you have not done so thus far.

Unfortunately. Lack of hormones in us women tends to make us "pack on" the weight.

So, please have these other things ruled out prior to doing anything drastic.

I am a nursing student and EMT for our local fire department. Hypothyroidism and hypoglycemia can cause weight gain. The most important thing is the simple answer we often hear with many medical problems. Exercise and Nutrition. You need to research superfoods that can give your body what it needs to be healthy. Exercise is very important too, and it will become easier the more you do it and as you lose weight. I will encourage you to look into Original Limu and specifically the supernutrient in it caled FUCOIDAN. What is unique about this product is that it is not found in any landbased plant and unlike any other naturally occurring juice supplement, it has 688 supportive third party scientific research articles published in the National Library of Medicine at Entrez PubMed. The astonishing thing to me, is that the hundreds of people I have talked to who are drinking it are reporting benefits that the science reports might be possible. I work in a transitional and long there care facility and see these residents on so many meds. They are not going off them. When does it stop? This spiraling downward sprial into longer lifespan but lower quality of life...

I am by far an expert but I have had Thyroid problems all my life and I am a paramedic. I too have had a hysterectomy at 27 due to endometriosis. I can tell you that it sounds like you may have Hypothyroidism. They patchy dry skin and lack of sleep and the weight gain all suggest Thyroid. You can go to your doctor and get a simple blood test to find out the answer. If you do indeed have this condition it can be at times very hard to regulate. You just need to find out which med works for you. I wish you luck! I know how fustrating it can be. I have been through it over and over again. It took years for them to find out what was wrong with me. I have been on synthroid for about 15 years now and I do not take any HRT's. I can't say I feel like the same old me but, I guess it is better than the alternative. PAIN!
