Hi I just got a 6week old labrador on Wednesday, since Thursday morning he seems to have trouble going to the toilet, he can't pass his stools and it takes him along time to do a little and last night there was a small bit of blood in his stool, there was no blood this morning, I'm just wonder if he is just adjusting to hisnew home and maby we do his food differend, any comments or suggestions would be very welcome, thanks a million

I don't like the sounds of that at all. Usually a little one like that has all too good of output. You had better see the vet.

6 weeks is the very earliest a puppy should ever be removed from its mother and litter. I have done OK with some at about 45 days. The younger they leave the litter, the more they need time with other dogs. I am going to paste in what I just explained in another question. ''Better to ask too many questions than not enough. I hope you have a good vet that will patiently answer your questions. As you describe it, what your puppy is doing sounds normal.'' (Theirs, not yours)

Hi Labman thanks a mil for your advice I took jake to the vet on the weekend, and thank goodness he's OK, nothing to worry about, he is doing great now, such a playfull puppy he has fitted into the family great and the kids adore him. So a happy ending to this story.
