    AVG 7.5 internet security
I have AVG and it says under spyware that I have 26 potentially unwanted programs, but it doesn't give me the option to heal the problems. I don't know whether to delete or leave them and also I don't know if its hurting my computer. But under status it says infected... someone HELP!!

AVG doesn't check for spyware normally. Are you talking about the free version?

Well, if you'd like, you may post what the 'infections' are so I can tell you what's harmful, what are cookies, and MRU's.

If you want to, you can view the infection details and delete the files listed if you want to get rid of them?

    Best of luck,

OK after the scan on the window showing what spyware /ad ware /etc you have -- next to set all elements to -- just pick quarantine. That way they will be backed up in case one of your programs requires one of those items. -- Savage

Cookies are small files commonly created by websites, or advertisements.
Deleting a cookie will not harm your computer, but some cookies such as the askmehelpdesk[1].txt cookie is a file that helps this website auto-login their users.

If you're unsure, just delete the cookie, the most you will have to do is re-login.
Then you know not to delete that one next time.

    Good Luck,
