Ok - this one is probably a toughy, so kudos to anyone out there that might know this. I'm looking for the title of an 80's (probably later 80's) sci-fi movie when scientists are doing experiments with peoples minds while they are alseep or in a coma. (It's not the movie Dreamscape or Coma).

What they discover is that there's a dimension within our minds. They have some kind of door or portal that they connect to a machine that they can actually enter this dimension. Story line is, a guy comes to work for this scientist/company, there's a guy and girl (semi naked of coarse) unconscious lying on tables being experimented on. All I can really remember is at the end of the movie, the doctor goes through this portal into this other dimension only to come back out and tell us that there are thousands of living creatures in this dimension. The creatures reach through the portal and grab the scientist (no doubt to kill him) and the intern/helper guy helps unplug the girl and they both get out safe.

Know any of the actors? If you at least one Google the name and look for the movie list, or call a small movie store they tend to know that stuff.
