I also live in Texas. Texas is one of those neat places that it is almost impossible to collect on a judgement against an individual.

Basically whatever property that you designate up to a value of 60,000 for a family and 30,000 for a single person exclusive of any liens or security interests in the property.

Not included in the aggregate amounts above are: current wages, prescribed health aids, alimony, support, or separate maintenance payments.

Most retirement accounts, annuity contracts, retirement savings plans, and education savings plans are also exempt and are not included in the aggregate amounts listed above.

Now I understand why the jerk that owes my huband and me 6k judgement moved to Texas. As soon as the garnishment was served he relocated to Texas.
